Two shops irrevocably imprinted themselves upon my sound-soul: Modern Music (on Charles) and Music Liberated (on Saratoga). BATAILLE ROYALE is a simultaneous tribute to two of the best record stores that ever existed anywhere in any city, where (at a very impressionable age) I was exposed to Mancunian IDM and Baltimore Club records.
